The world was empty and dry. No green could be seen anywhere. Only one tree was left on Earth. It stood tall in a brown land with no other plants around.

An old woman named Sara watched over this tree. She came every day with a small bucket of water. Her grandmother had told her stories about forests long ago - trees everywhere, green and alive.

This tree was special. It was the last living tree on the planet. Scientists believed its seeds might help bring back life someday. Anna believed this too.
